Tips to create a successful bathroom design…
No room causes more headaches when it comes to planning and choosing fixtures and fittings than the bathroom.
As an interior designer I know that each room in a home should always be designed and decorated according to its function. But bathrooms come in all sorts of shapes and sizes and of all the rooms in a house the bathroom is the space that challenges my design creativity the most.
When thinking about the function of the bathroom many of us think first of tranquillity and maybe a spa-like atmosphere. If nothing else we want our bathrooms to be comfortable with surfaces that are simple, elegant and easy to clean.
Creating our dream bathroom sometimes requires thinking outside of the box and researching innovative fixtures and fittings especially if the room is on the small side. It’s also useful to keep in mind that most high end bathrooms are created using easy to clean, light-reflecting materials such as marble, granite and porcelain.
If you have the room then accessories can include chandeliers, mirrored vanities and art.
