By Daniel Perjesi, The Crown at Woodbridge
The Crown at Woodbridge is making the most of Suffolk’s extensive natural larder to create Great British menus with a difference thanks to Hungarian-born chef Daniel Perjesi. Daniel’s Michelin star experience combined with flavoursome regional produce has elevated the food offering at the restaurant to new exciting heights. Here is his take on his time in Suffolk so far…
“I’m originally from Budapest and now the new head chef at The Crown at Woodbridge. It’s been great getting to know the people of Suffolk and discovering the local area’s amazing natural larder over the past few months. We really are blessed to be in such a beautiful county packed full of fantastic produce. I’ve found ingredients here that even the finest restaurants in London would be proud to serve and have difficulty finding – it really is that good!
“These days it’s a given for restaurants to shout about using local produce. We get it. But it’s much harder living and breathing it like we do here at The Crown. Utilising ingredients from nearby waters and farmers’ fields, we pride ourselves in working closely with our local suppliers to ensure that only the freshest, in-season food makes it onto our menus. Simple, beautiful, seasonal ingredients cooked to perfection in our own unique style – that is what we are all about.
“As a chef, I love colourful, vibrant dishes and appreciate the impact good looking plates of food can have on our diners.
