Greg Davis steps into the countryside for a Suffolk Escape

After turning off the main road through Hintlesham and heading further into the countryside, we soon turned into a farmyard entrance signed for the Suffolk Escape and made our way down a mile long track. Driving in between fields with crops swaying beautifully in the light wind, we had no idea what we were about to discover. We were not disappointed.

The Suffolk Escape is a family-run business located in Hintlesham on a 300-acre farm overlooking the valley and rolling Suffolk countryside. With four well established adults-only two-bedroom self-catering log cabins, the Suffolk Escape enjoys a large amount of repeat business but since 2016 has been working on a new project, The Sheepyard Barn. This was completed and opened in April this year. Able to sleep 12 guests, this barn has been lovingly restored and extended by its owner Andrew Bryce, whose family own the farm. Recently we invited some friends of ours to come and experience what a Suffolk Escape can offer…

Throughout the barn, the fixtures and fittings are all top quality, as is the finish throughout. The standards of luxury, comfort and facilities offered are second to none and include an indoor heated swimming pool with an exercise jet machine that allows you to swim against the current it creates. This is a great way to exercise while on holiday or just to relax in with the kids. If you prefer being outdoors, then just head out past the Shearing Shed (games room and additional bedroom if required) and round to the large hot tub. Again we spent a lot of time there both being covered in bubbles as well as drinking them!
