Big or small, a well-presented garden can add thousands to the asking price of your property. But more than that, a beautiful garden is a fantastic relaxing space to entertain and enjoy.
The importance of the so-called extra room outside cannot be underestimated with many thousands spent each year on planting and garden accessories.
So what should the best dressed garden include?
Well just as for the interior of your home lighting plays an important part in extending your enjoyment of your garden once the sun goes down. With the huge range of solar lighting on the market just now the choice is yours. Have strings of lights in hedges, on walls or over pagodas. Choose a feature tree and light it from the base by up-lighting the trunk and branches, creating a natural sculptural look.
For great entertaining, as well as for your own comfort, nothing beats a great table and chairs filled with soft, colourful cushions. Why not add to the sense of fun in the summer by stringing colourful bunting around the garden? Don’t forget to add a BBQ (even the smallest garden can boast this handy entertainment tool) while bigger gardens might have an area dedicated to a brick oven or maybe a hot tub.
