Living in Suffolk and often visiting the neighboring county of Norfolk, it is clear we have an abundance of delightful places to eat. From lite bites to near Michellin star quality, we are fully catered for. Living in Ufford just outside Woodbridge we could be no closer to this truth and recently visited The Unruly Pig in Bromeswell, that is just a few miles from our home.

The décor is modern and stylish and the atmosphere is relaxed. Having had a lot of money invested in the building over recent years it is a very nice venue to dine in and relax after a hard day at work. The comfortable bar area flows nicely into the restaurant rooms with open firews ready for the Autumn and Winter months. We arrived to a very full car park on a Thursday night which is always a good sign and were greeted with a very warm welcome from the Manager Tom, Owner Brendan, Barman Harry and our fantastic waitress for the evening, Madeline.

With Madelines’ recommendation we perused the menu whilst enjoying an Elder Flower/Cucumber Collins that certainly refreshed the palette and was a nice twist on the normal Tom Collins.

The menu offers a variety of meats, fish, pasta, vegetables and fruits that combine to create some unique dishes that I would suggest you wouldn’t see too often elsewhere. The main ingredients are not surprising but what they are combined and served with make the dishes sound interesting and individual. Some good examples of this are a couple of the starters, ‘Duck Liver Parfait with Brioche and White Peach or Raviolo of Rabbit and Pancetta with Minted Lettuce Veloute and Peas.’

There is also a set menu on offer with some wonderful specials and the choice of 2 courses for £16 or 3 courses for £19 which are both outstanding value.
