Tips and advice to achieve a warm and cosy home this winter
No doubt about it, this time of year a blazing fire in the hearth is a romantic, warming, comforting thought. Just listen to the lyrics sung by crooner Dean Martin or maybe Michael Bublé if you need more convincing proof.
We are so lucky here in Suffolk and Norfolk because we have a wide range of suppliers of log burners we can turn to for great advice on the best type of fire for our home.
Of course the vision invoked by the song is not possible in some of our modern homes where an open fire or log burner is not an option. If that is the case and you have a room without such a focal point then why not consider installing a gel, bioethanol or top of the range electric fire to add an important atmospheric focal point to the space you relax in.
The Opti-myst range by Dimplex is a superb example. I have used their Oakhurst log stove model in three renovation projects with great success and they are available to order from most local suppliers. With a bit of thought and careful planning you can turn a room with blank walls into a warm, cosy winter sanctuary for all the family to enjoy.
Once you have your focal point fireplace then it is all about how we use our accessories and lighting to ensure our homes continue to reflect a warm and welcoming atmosphere for friends and family to enjoy.
