Award winning hearing care across Suffolk & Norfolk
Highlighting the importance of regular hearing checks
One in six people in the UK experience some form of hearing loss. Unfortunately many of us chose to accept poor hearing rather than addressing the problem, which can lead to isolation, depression and anxiety. One local company has been championing the need to look after our hearing for many years and encourages people to have regular hearing checks, much like we do with our eyes and teeth…
It’s a family affair
The Hearing Care Centre, which was set up in 1998 by entrepreneur Karen Finch has gone exponentially, now employing 7 audiologists and offering its patients a superlative hearing care service from 25 clinics located across Suffolk and Norfolk. Many of the staff employed by Karen are in fact family members including her husband, her two children, niece and aunt. “When I first set out my aim was to provide local, holistic, ethical hearing care. It was local because in an insular county like Suffolk, localness and community involvement are much valued; holistic because I didn’t want to be just a “hearing aid saleswoman”, but provide the full range of hearing care; ethical because that’s just how I am”, said Karen.
Award winning company
This mantra hasn’t changed a bit since its conception and Karen believes it is one of the main differentiators between The Hearing Care Centre and its competitors. “We believe another competitive advantage is that we are a caring company, which will go the extra mile. Had we a sign above the door it might read “We love our patients” and it would really be true. They are all treated as though they are a loved relative, welcomed into our clinics and treated professionally but in a caring and fair way,” said Karen. The company has achieved national and local recognition, with a number of awards for the way it looks after its customers, including being named winners or finalists for the ‘Customer Care Award’ an incredible ten times, at the EADT Business Awards.
Caring service
Having a hearing test needn’t be a daunting experience. As soon as you walk through the door The Hearing Care Centre’s audiologists put you at ease straight away. They will conduct a full hearing assessment using different testing methods and if you do have a hearing loss a recommendation may be made with regards to purchasing hearing aids, which start from only £595. The Hearing Care Centre is one of the only truly independent companies in the region, meaning they have access to every model of hearing aid on the market. This enables them to ensure they select the right hearing aid for each patient, taking into consideration hearing levels, lifestyle, budget and cosmetic requirements.
